here is another inspirational write-up i received from dana who had a divine artist date in october. books, journal writing, and sushi sound like an artist date dream. enjoy!
“The Collingswood Book Festival coincides with Banned Book Week, so of course I had to wear my banned book bracelet that my mom bought me for my birthday last year.
Collingswood is an artsy, small town near Philadelphia. Their book festival is just a couple of years old, but draws a big crowd with author events, book signings, and second-hand book vendors.
There was a whole tent dedicated to fairy books!
My favorite ballerina flats from Target next to sidewalk chalk outside the children’s play area, Loompaland.
Yummy sushi for lunch from Sushi Lin.
Taking an afternoon journal break after being inspired by thousands of books. For an aspiring writer, a whole day dedicated to books forced me to be self-reflective about the barriers to writing I have been facing. In my journal, I made the resolution to seek out more writing opportunities.
Before leaving the festival, I bought a second-hand copy of The Republic of Tea: The Story of the Creation of a Business, as Told through the Personal Letters of its Founders. I can’t wait to cozy up with a cup of tea!
Thank you so much, Kimberly, for giving me a kick in the butt to take a day for myself surrounded by my most favorite thing in the world, books!”
