4. To Prepare

– SAVE the day and time in your planner.
– DOWNLOAD and review your workbook.
– GATHER your creature comforts (comfy clothing, a fragrant candle or aromatherapy, a cuppa tea, flowers, a cozy scarf).
– BRING an effervescent beverage for our toast at the end, your journal and/or art journal/sketchbook (here’s a video peek inside my first art journal), writing tools, a glue stick, scissors, and a black Sharpie.
– Optional creativity supplies: two small bottles of acrylic paint in your favorite colors, old credit card or hotel key card “paintbrush,” stamps/stamp pads, colored pencils, washi tape, watercolors, any additional favorite tools.
– COLLECT ephemera that appeals to you: bits of paper such as images or words from magazines, scrap paper, old books, photos, postcards, tissue paper.
– ALTERNATIVES to the yoga and mindfulness video: try walking meditation or seated meditation. Read a book. Write a letter. Gather your ephemera. Listen to the retreat Spotify playlist and do legs up the wall.
– NEW to art journaling? Watch this 20-minute tutorial. Check out this Instagram Reel. Download this PDF.
