as formerly revealed, our summer online book club pick is savor: mindful eating, mindful life. i came across this book in my year of mindfulness program and have been slowly devouring it over the past few weeks in paris. i love thich nhat hanh’s writing, struggle with speedy eating, and can’t get enough on mindfulness so it felt like a great fit. i think you, too, will “savor” it.
since college i’ve found myself eating cereal {quickly} for many meals on-the-go, struggling with low blood sugar shakes, and obsessed with all things sugary. over the past decade i’ve become more mindful about my eating habits . . . but given a baguette and cheese or decadent dessert and this all goes out the window.
also, get me to my favorite restaurant {olive garden, i know, i know} and i’m begging for more bowls of salad and bread sticks plus delivery of dessert with my entree {so i don’t have to wait}. sigh.
thus the strong desire to learn to eat more mindfully and less on-the-go. coupled with a deep desire to live more mindfully in general.
